Episode Administration

Last updated: July 10, 2020

Episodes allow users to easily record the occurrence of an event and its duration. This allows for the filtering of data on a chart to only show values that occur within the duration of the episode or to overlay an indication of the event and its duration so that any effect on the data stream can easily be determined.

Episodes are configured in Episode Administration, and are viewed on the Episode Chart within the Digital Twin Explorer.

A menu option gives access to the Episode Administration screen.

This screen allows for addition, modification, and deletion of episodes. It also allows for episodes to be associated with containers.

  • To add a new episode:
    1. Click the Add Episode button.
    2. When the Add Episode dialog appears, supply the necessary information and click Submit.
  • To modify an existing episode:
    1. Choose an episode from list and click the Edit Episode button.
    2. When the Edit Episode dialog appears, make any required changes and click Submit.
  • To delete an existing episode:
    1. Choose the episode from the list and click the Delete Episode button.
    2. When the warning dialog appears, click OK to delete the episode.

Episode Allocation

To take advantage of episode functionality, we need to allocate one or more containers to the episode. When this is done, any points that exist below allocated containers will be assigned to the episode.

To the right of the episode list is a treeview navigator.

Allocate episodes to containers by selecting the required episode and checking / unchecking the tick boxes next to the container in the tree.

Allocation Table

Access the allocation table by clicking the Allocation Table button.

This view presents a list of containers currently allocated to the selected episode.

Click the TreeView Navigator button to return that mode.
